It has been a week of milestones, and it's only Wednesday.
On Monday, Liam has his first day of preschool. He attends Apple School which is located across the street on the American Embassy compound. He thinks it's a pretty special place and finds particular enjoyment in flashing his ID badge to the guards. Here he is by his cubby, tinted blue because of the awning above (the Band-Aid on his forehead is merely an accessory):
On Tuesday, Asa had his first day of kindergarten. If all of his classmates brought their passports to school, there would be: 6 from the US, 2 from the UK, 2 Israel, 2 Korea, 1 India, 1 Finland, 1 Netherlands, and 1 France/Sweden. Here he is next to the name board:
And today, Asa celebrated his fifth birthday. He had cupcakes delivered to his classroom, opened a few presents we had packed in our luggage, and enjoyed ice cream with candles after dinner. On Sunday afternoon, we'll have cupcakes poolside with some of our new friends.
Hoping for another big day tomorrow.....our air shipment has arrived at the Delhi airport and is waiting to clear customs. Not sure how we got here from Maine in less than 24 hours while that giant box has taken four weeks, but I'm very eager to get it as it contains the fixin's for Asa's birthday celebration and - of almost equal importance - all of my shoes.
:). What a class list in Asa's kindergarten. Lila and I Howled at Liam's bandaid as an accessory. I remember those days! Happy Birthday Asa. Hope those shoes arrived Kristen. Take care,
