Every two years, the middle and elementary school students gather to witness the burning of Ravana, marking the Dussehra holiday. I wrote about this event two years ago, but couldn't resist a second post. It's just that crazy.
This year, the location was the middle school field (which is just outside Liam's (filthy) bedroom window. The effigy was constructed late Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday before school, Asa and Liam took a peek before heading off to school:
A clearer view of Ravana:
Where else would a school gather its students and put on such a display?
Incredible India.
But the fiery Ravana was later outdone by the long-awaited falling out of Liam's top tooth - his second tooth lost and the first to come out in India.
Grrrrrrrrrr........
Yesssssss!
Now we have a three day weekend and tomorrow morning, we escape to the foothills of the Himalayas. Looking forward to fresh air, mountain views, and fine Indian cuisine.
Good riddance, evil!
