Things continue to get better.
The weekend weather has been great (cool but sunny) and we have take advantage of public transportation and checking out the city and suburbs. It's crazy cheap to get into and around the city; a Sube card provides access to train, subway, and bus lines. Below are some photos of our adventures.

Watching Tango in San Telmo:
Chinatown is just a few blocks long and a few blocks wide, an easy outing for spicy lunch and to shop for elusive ingredients:
We took the train a few stops north to check out the annual antique car race that starts in the Recoleta neighborhood of the city and ends in Tigre. It's a historical recreation of the first road race in Argentina,
that took place on December 9th, 1906.
Liam high-fives a twiggy sculpture:
The Buenos Aires Market is held in a different location around the city each month. The September event was in Palermo, and to get there we trained and then transferred to our first subway ride downtown. Easy peasy.
A pastrami sandwich was the culinary highlight the market. So much so, that I took more than one photo of it. The first one looks like a silly monster face with pickle eyes, doesn't it?
Fueled up on market snacks, we walked many blocks to check out a very famous bookstore, located in an old cinema/theater. It is an impressive space and with a cafe on the stage at the back. Just a small selection of books in English; all of them Harlequin romance novels.
Liam can't walk by a sugar-roasted peanut vendor without making a purchase:
Don't know yet what the weekend has in store but no doubt there are many options for wandering and eating. Our absolute favorite way to explore a city.
